Shivapuri Hiking Route is not only the nearest hiking route from Kathmandu but also religiously famous. Bagadwar, the source of the holy river Bagmati, is located on this route. If you go or return from Jagdol, you can also visit the beautiful Nang Kyi Gumba. Even though Shivpuri Peak is at an altitude of 2732 meters, the view of the mountains is not good due to the surrounding trees. Although the route is in the Shivapuri Nagarjun national park, so you can see different vegetation and sometimes wild boar and pheasant.

Hiking Itinerary
- Jagdol - Nankey Gumba - Deurali - Bagdwar - Shivapuri peak (7-9 hours)
- Budhanilkantha - Deurali - Bagdwar - Shivapuri peak (6-8 hours)
Hiking preparation
- Small hiking backpack, Stick optional, Minimal first aid kit
- Light hiking cloth - pant/shorts, T-shirt, and windcheater jacket/jacket according to season, hiking shoes, sun cap, goggles, and sun cream
- You have to spend the whole day inside the national park, so you must carry a prepared lunch. Don't forget to carry water and water bottles and bring back the garbage.
