Thole Demba is the highest point of Okhaldhunga district and all in one place from a tourist point of view. Its height is 3350 meters as mentioned by the survey department. From here, you can see all the 8000 meters of mountains in Nepal and many other mountains. This is probably the only place in Nepal where I can see all the mountains above 8000 meters. The mountains above 8000 meters can be seen from here are Kanchanjunga 8586m, Makalu 8485m, Mt. Everest 8848.86m, Lhotse 8516m, Choyu 80201m, Sishapangma 8027m, Manaslu 8163m, Annapurna 8091m.

Apart from the mountains, the sunrise and sunset look very good from here. Along with nature, it is also very rich in culture. Cultural experience can be enjoyed in this place where Sunuwar Sherpa and Tamang castes are predominant.
The second most important triangulation station in the survey by the Department of Surveying and Mapping, placed within a hundred destinations by the Tourism Board, is also a place used to measure the height of Mount Everest.
How to get Thole Demba?
Khiji Dabas air service is not in operation and the journey of about 200 kilometers from Kathmandu to Falate Bazaar by public bus and from Falate to Chuplu Bhanjyang by jeep is easy and short. For those traveling from the east, Chuplu Bhanjyang can be reached from Okhaldhunga via Rampur-Falate road. Since there is only a public bus from Okhaldhunga to Shrichaur, you have to travel by jeep from Shrichaur. Small cars and scooters are not recommended as it is a dirt road.
Preparations for the Tholedemba travel
There is no need to worry about food and accommodation as there are hotel and lodge facilities up to the destination. As Thole Demba is at an altitude of 3350 meters, don't forget to carry some warm clothes and goggles as well as a first aid kit. Even if there is an electricity facility, don't forget to carry a power backup for the camera and mobile. Since you have to walk for more than 3 hours, please do not wear sandal boots or uncomfortable clothes.
Another tourist attraction of Okhaldhunga is Pokli Waterfall which is the second tallest waterfall in Nepal and it is 130 feet high. It is 5 hours west of Demba hill and it looks very attractive in the monsoon season.
At last, always respect local culture and people. Try to leave only your footprints, manage your garbage.
